8 Ball is an interdimensional criminal from an unknown dimension[2] who is a member of Bill Cipher's gang.
History[]
Background[]
Eons before the events of the series, 8 Ball indulged in criminal activities before being called together by Bill Cipher, along with the rest of his gang.[2]
Season 2[]
In "The Last Mabelcorn," after Ford receives Bill's warning that Weirdmageddon is coming, 8 Ball's arms are briefly seen on an image of a wheel with symbols. Near the end of the episode, the arrival of 8 Ball and the rest of Bill's comrades into Gravity Falls' dimension is foreshadowed in Ford's flashback of a conversation with Bill. When Bill mockingly tells Ford that he has betrayed him, 8 Ball's laughing silhouette is seen in the representation of another dimension projected in the Mindscape.
In "Weirdmageddon Part 1," during the cold open, Bill introduces 8 Ball along with the rest of his friends to the residents of Gravity Falls. Afterwards, on Main Street, 8 Ball and the others watch Bill turn Ford into a lifeless golden statue, taunt Dipper and burn the journals. Bill then tells 8 Ball and Teeth to eat Dipper as a reward. However, Dipper manages to get away from them. Later in the episode, after Time Baby and the Time Paradox Avoidance Enforcement Squadron are vaporized, 8 Ball and Teeth approach Bill to warn him that Dipper is still roaming free, and might try to free Mabel from her prison bubble. However, Bill is not worried, as he has Gideon on the case, so the party carries on.
In "Weirdmageddon 2: Escape From Reality," 8 Ball and the rest of Bill's friends attempt to leave Gravity Falls to spread their chaos across the world, only to collide with an invisible barrier. They are later subjected to Bill's rage over their inability to leave.
In "Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back The Falls," 8 Ball participates in the battle against the Shacktron, during which the being is hit by one of the Eye-Bats' beams when Wendy Corduroy hijacks it, turning most of 8 Ball's head to stone. Following Bill's defeat, 8 Ball is sucked back into the Nightmare Realm along with his comrades.
Gravity Falls: Lost Legends[]
8 Ball and Keyhole make a brief cameo during the tale "Don't Dimention It!", when Mabel falls through dimentions, among them the Nightmare Realm. He and Keyhole are standing next to a statue of Bill that reads "HE WAS THE WORST" in it's base, he and Keyhole are staring at it with an angry face. This implies that maybe he and Keyhole hated Bill or maybe is a common feeling for all the Henchmaniacs. Also, his head has been healed since his incident with Wendy in the finale.
Appearance[]
8 Ball is olive green, with a lighter chest and stomach, and has a muscular upper body. It has large ears with a what apears to be a bite in one of them, a prominent underbite and large fangs. 8 Ball's "eyes" are magic 8-balls that glow yellow at the symbols, which are usually pointed in different directions. There are also shackles on his right wrist and ankle, with a small segment of broken chain dangling from both of them.

Trivia[]
- Robertryan Cory, who designed the Henchmaniacs, had the most trouble coming up with 8 Ball's appearance,[3] as evidenced by his multiple character designs of the being.
- 8 Ball appears as an Easter egg in the Rick and Morty episode "Rest and Ricklaxation". He may be seen lying between all the snot in the toxic world.
- 8 Ball replaces Dipper in the Weirdmageddon intro, with him being scared and dropping the candle at the sight of Dipper's body, rather than vice versa.
- 8 Ball and Zanthar are the only Henchmaniacs that aren't seen after the fight with the Shacktron.
- 8 Ball and Keyhole make a cameo in Gravity Falls: Lost Legends, during the tale "Don't Dimention It!" when Mabel falls through dimentions. He and Keyhole are standing next to a statue of Bill that reads "He was the Worst", implying he and the rest of the Henchmaniacs probably loathed him.
