  • Where else would all those Bill stuff come from?

    Sorry this is short. XD

    • Well he said the natives made the tapestry. But I don't know if I'd say they worshipped him. Based on what he said on the AMA it soudned more like they feared him and obeyed him in hopes that they would survive.

    • People fear dragons, yet people still worship them. XD

Granted, it's probably because half the human race say dragons aren't evil. I'm one of them. :P

    • What if the Northwests had made a deal with Bill in the past?

        Loading editor
    • hmmmm. they told bill to give them money and enternal younth and they would worship him and sacrafice "the perfect decent "to him and this perfect decent is Pacifica.

    • how else would the village idiot turn from a nobody to the most powerful person in the town without strings attached despite the town having better candidates for the role.

    • I think  Grunkle Stan made a deal with Bill

    • Gold seems to be the key phrase to Bill Cipher. When Stan and Dipper were confronting Robbie in Boyz Crazy, Stan told Robbie that the end of the world is comming and that he should bury his gold and in Dreamscraperers Bill told Gideon to buy gold.

This is can be either a reference to Samuel Pepys who buried his possessions during the great fire of london or it means that Bill gets stronger by aquiring gold and the richest family in the town is bound to have gold somewhere so they could be his first priority/target.

    • Real possible. The Shack carpet, that stained glass window, other stuff. He might be an evil god too. Or else he FORCES the people to worship him. (the tapestry

    • In the episode Dreamscapers, when Gideon says he wanna know the code of Stan's safe, Bill turns around and shows a picture of a symbol (that's the same symbol of Stan's table in his bunker) and Grunkle Stan, so Bill might know him. Plus, it's a angry picture of Stan and the background has the same blue light like the machine in Stan's bunker. So if he dealt with Bill it must be  something with the machine and Stanly.

    • Knowing the series continuity references we may get a scene identical to Bill's images of Stan/Stanley lunging towards him in either a future episode the upcoming episode.

    • I guess we'll see it in "A TALE OF TWO TWIN BROTHERS", we'll see it all :)

    • Probably, but sometimes not.

In a religious perspective, the people in Gravity Falls have a lack of "Faith" ( If you know what I meant).

That "lack of faith" apparently and probably explains why the church bell (As seen in Weirdmaggedon Part 1) was affected, personified and was brought to life by Bill's "weirdness wave".

    • Stan is atheist, and looks like most of the resident is atheist or unreligiously. And....

      Ford... worshipped Bill, once

    • Ok no one in Gravity Falls has been confirmed to be Cristian.

The Nortwests have an image of Bill in theire house. The p[eople of the town adore the Northwests. As we saw in wierdmegaton Mr.Nortwest wasn't bothered by the fact that they were in the Apocalips he just siad hello and acepted Bill as his new leader. So it is possible that the Northwests worshipped Bill.

      Ford worshiped Bill.

The rest of the town has little or no signs of believing in any religion.

Now lets look at the 6-sided star found at the tent of telaphaty.

It is found in various religions.

But it is also used in Satanic cult.

According to Dr. Cathy Burns, as well as other scholars, “the hexagram is linked to spiritualism ie consulting the dead, reincarnation, the calling up of demons and in some sorcery, all viewed as the footprints of certain demons. The hexagram is also associated with the Hindu gods and goddesses and many others”.

So the ture nature of the star is unknown

Stan was confired to be an atheist

Lets look at the church. The bell was turned into a monster.

The bell that calls all the people that attend church.

Seems strange that something that jions cristians to hear God's words would be personified and into something absurd and crazy.

      So lets sum it up.

      The Norstwests worshipped bill.

Most of town has such a lack of faith that Gravity Falls was a perfect starting point for Demons. All they had to do was wait for the rest of the world to lose faith. This lack of faith resulted in the Chruch bell being afected.

And the six-pionted star was used on the tent of telephaty for unknown reasons ( this is due to it's nature.I would say that it was becuase of Gideon and possible Satanic cult but Bill's summoning doesn't include such star.)

      So there's your ansewer.

This is why we should not bring religion stuff to kids show. At least, not to show the character is atheist or whatever on screen, but in a place where not all viewers saw it (Especially kids) like when Alex said Stan is atheist and Dipper and Mabel is raised irreligious on Twitter.

Uh. You mean the FIVE-sided star on the tent of telepathy? Trace it out in the air or on a piece of paper for yourself.

Also, your Latin roots are looking a little grey (he he).

I don't want to lecture like a smartypants, but you should look up the meaning of the Latin prefixes, "penta-" and "hexa-".

    • There was a church behind the founder's statue in town.

The man who maried a woodpecker had an officiant for his ceremony.

Numerology is often used by people practicing Kabbala or bible interpretation.

Alchemy makes extensive references to angels.

Astrology is a pathetic and watered-down decendant of Babalonian religious prophecy.

Unicorns have their origin in the bible and are strongly associated with Christian religious iconography.

Intolerance of witches is advocated by the bible. Although why Saul got cut a break with the Witch of Endor isn't adequately explained.

Honoring *every* member of your family is a pretty strong Gravity Falls value. Along with Trust and Forgiveness.

Mable makes a positively messianic choice and pose as she floats before the portal.

In "Summerween", one of the trick-or-treaters is dressed as a mummy, which is an ancient Egyptian religious practice.

Ok. Now I'm getting a bit loopy. There are religious influences all throughout our culture, Gravity Falls teaches us to value the good and fight the bad in all things at all times.

A pretty darn good philosopy, all said.

But feel free to keep finding religious influences without my help.
