I think it's STANFORD, cuz it's his name. What do you guys think?

YES!! I KNEW IT!!
If the password is written in invisible ink, how did Dipper not notice it?
I know, right?! I've been thinking about how that seems like a continuity error. Like, if he's read the whole thing inside and out, why was he so surprised about the portal, or the ufo?
Well, he is not suprised specifically about the portal, he is surprised about the Stan big secret. And the UFO isn't mention in the first part of the Journal 3. Actually, another continuity error the Journal makes is that Fiddleford is mention directly as his name and not as F.
Once you look at it closely, the show has plot holes like Swiss cheese. Maybe Alex Hirsch thought nobody would notice.

Makes sense. There are three list of goofs about the series.
Wanna know why?
Because of a detail, that would be very unnecessary if it was a meaningless design choice in the fifth episode of the second season. In the scene of interest, Soos is shown talking to his new "girlfriend" and it is revealed that his password is "Fixinit1", a password that would absolutely fit the criteria for the possible password that is used for the laptop. The most obvious criterion it fits is the number of digits, 8, as referenced by Dipper when searching for a possible password. The second criterion is also fairly obvious, Dipper hasn't tried it yet. And how can we know for sure he hasn't? Well, that's because Dipper only tried words from a dictionary and since "Fixinit1" is not a word you can find in the dictionary, he couldn't have used it. And even if he had given up on regular words, why would he try a password that would only make sense for Soos instead of a password that would make sense for an established villain?
Obviously, this theory implies that Soos knows a way more than it seems, which is very likely. Remember that time when Soos, the Twins, and Mabel's dream boys were visiting Grunkie Stan's consciousness or dreamscape or whatever and they discover this memory of Stan typing in the code to the vending machine and Soos simply closes the door and says: "Boring!"?

Maybe I should've read the other comments before posting. My idea has been debunked in the thread before I even posted it. I felt so clever:/
