  • In the short, there is a scene where the monster stops on the TV remote and becomes glued to the TV. Mabel says that it is hypnotized by the TV. When Dipper shows up, he is also glued to the TV. Was Dipper hypnotized by the TV or was he just enjoying what was on the TV? This has been on my mind for quite some time now.

    • Maybe both! :)

    • I'm the person who posted the question. Personally, I thought that Dipper was hypnotized into liking the movie after seeing his eyes dilate.

    • In real life the TV hypnotizes too :P

    • Maybe its just me, but the music from the movie sounded sorta Harry Potter-ish.

Really? The music I heard sounded like the standard bouncy tune that sounds whenever the TV is on in a cartoon.

      Maybe I'm just not creative.

-shrugs- Or maybe I'm just insane. People do tend to tell me that a lot. ^.^

Based on the TV screen, it looked Star Wars-esque.

    • After rewatching the short, I noticed several different things that may show that the twins and the monster were hypnotized by the TV. Mabel was speaking in a monotone voice "Candy now. Monster later." Also, neither twin responded to Soos when he walked by.

Okay, but Dipper was able to talk to the camera normally enough.

    • He probably snapped out of it between the 2 portions of the short. The sa me could be said for the monster.

    • On second thought, maybe I looked too much into it. I now believe that dipper was either hypnotized by the TV or he had a VERY short attention span in that short (him eating the candy as well as the previously stated TV incident)

    • When I say eating the candy, I mean the previous scene where Mabel tells Dipper to eat the candy.
